Cognition and Movement in Parkinsonian Disorders

The DNI, in collaboration with the TCD School of Biomedical Engineering, is conducting studies on people diagnosed with parkinsonian disorders to determine the relationship of cognition and static and dynamic movement through the use of new technology and wearable sensors.

This research hopes that the use of these technologies to assess the static and dynamic stability of posture in these conditions may be a simple, reliable, and sensitive way to diagnose and track the progression of Idiopathic Parkinson’s Disease and other Parkinsonian Disorders.
